District Panchayat Resource Center, Balijana

The District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC), Goalpara, came into existence on 25th May 2018 at Agia, Goalpara District, with the aim of orienting its training and research activities. The Centre is located in the serene rural surroundings of Goalpara District in Assam, adjacent to the Co-District Office and Balijana Dev. Block Office. It is about 11 km from Goalpara Railway Station.

Bestowed by the Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam, this Centre has flourished as a fountain of learning for the district of Goalpara. Since its inception, it has been a steadfast abode of knowledge — nurturing minds through diverse training programmes under the gracious support of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the Ministry of Rural Development, and the Government of Assam.

Here, representatives of the three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions, Officers of Panchayat and Rural Development, officials of line departments, and members of CBOs, NGOs, SHGs, along with the rural folk of Goalpara, gather to share wisdom and strengthen their calling. The Centre stands vibrant, imparting capacity-building training to the spirited representatives and functionaries of 81 Gaon Panchayats and 8 Anchalik Panchayats — sowing seeds of empowerment and shaping the path of progress.
