Extension Centre, Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Hailakandi (EC, GBSIPRD, Hailakandi) is one of the Extension Centres under Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam, Khanapara, Guwahati-22. EC, GBSIPRD, Hailakandi was established during the year 1998. It is a Zonal Centre for the Barak Valley districts. It covers Hailakandi, Sribhumi, Cachar and Dima Hasao districts. It is an extension centre for Research, Training and Technology Development under GBSIPRD, Assam under Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Govt. of Assam. It is located nearby Boalipar Bazar of Hailakandi district and is opposite to Dr. Shashi Bhushan Institute of Education, Boalipar, Hailakandi. The total area of this Institute is 5(Five) bighas. This Institute is presently conducting Orientation Training Programmes for the Newly Elected Representatives of Panchayats, various Govt. training programmes, awareness programmes etc. covering PRI functionaries, NGOs, CBOs, SHG Members and other stakeholders of PRIs as per the direction of GBSIPRD, Assam. Both in-campus and off- campus training programmes are being organised by this Centre. The main objective of this Institute is to enhance the capacity of the clientele (targeted) groups. The training halls are equipped with modern training facilities like Projector, Satellite Interactive Terminal (EDUSAT), Video Conferencing etc.
