District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) Dergaon, Golaghat was established in the year 2018 under Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam at Narikolguri, Dergaon, which is a historic town in Golaghat district of Assam, located about 20 km from the district headquarters and around 280 km east of Guwahati. Dergaon is known for its cultural heritage, educational institutions, and historic significance. As part of Assam’s decentralized training and capacity-building network, DPRC, Dergaon offers training modules, technical support, and planning assistance tailored to Panchayati Raj institutions at the district, block and village levels. It functions as a training and resource centre for the Elected Representatives and different level officials of Gram Panchayats, Anchalik Panchayats and Zilla Parishad, SHG members as well as other stakeholders in rural governance, offering various training programmes under the support of Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Ministry of Rural Development and Government of Assam. DPRC, Dergaon organises various capacity building programmes on areas such as Orientation training for the PRI members, implementation of various rural development schemes, social and other related issues etc.
