DPRC, Darrang

District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) Darrang was established in the year 2016. The foundation laid by then Hon’ble Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Govt. of Assam Sri Rakibul Hussain in the presence of Sri Basanta Das, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Scheduled Castes Welfare, Govt. of Assam. The DPRC Darrang was fully functional from 2019. Since then, the centre has been functioning as the training centre for the district of Darrang conferred by the Golap Borbora State institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (GBSIPRD), Assam. Right from the day of its inception, the centre organizes various training programmes under the support of the Ministry of Panchayat Raj, Ministry of Rural Development and Government of Assam. The centre organises various training programmes for the representatives of three tier Panchayat Raj Institution, different courses for officials of Panchayat and Rural Development, Officials of Line Department representative of CBO, NGOs, SHGs and rural people of Darrang Districts. Presently the centre is providing training on capacity building to the representatives and functionaries of 75 Nos. of Gaon Panchayats, 5 Nos. of Anchalik Panchayats.
